A lot of the times when we go Moose hunting we also have a Bear license with us,because you never know.We have seen bears on the road,in the bush and in our camps. And if we don`t get a moose, a bear will do just fine.In fact i have a crazy cousin who thinks that bear meat tastes better then moose. But then he eats anything.
And another thing, if i don`t get more hits or comments on this site,i may just wrap it up and go away.If no one cares for this site whats the point?
Hi there! Over the next while i hope to post a bunch of different hunting and fishing pictures and other related pics that i have taken over several years. You will see a lot of moose and other wildlife and the hunts camps that i have been involved in.And of course there will be some stories to go along with them. Most of these pics will have to be scanned first as they were taken before digital cameras became popular. So enjoy and tell your buddy's of this blog page.

Fishing for white fish in moose hunting country.
These are some fishing pictures from when i go moose hunting. We mostly go or catch white fish as that's the easiest fish to catch and there is a lot of them some times. The best lure we use is a Panther marten, something with red hair on it.Also you are allowed to use a dip net if you want, and sometime you can catch your limit in a couple of hours. Its a lot of fun and great eating.

Different sorts of moose.
Here are just a few of the moose that we have gotten.Over the years we have taken at least twenty moose.I myself have been lucky to shoot at least six of them.My biggest by antler spread was 48 inches at its widest point.
I was lucky to take that one.It was opening day,Saturday morning and i was not feeling so great.I happened to walk over a hill and he was just standing there about 150 yards away.He had one look at me and took off,and can they run!But a shot to the neck dropped him mid- stride.Anyway it took two trucks pulling on loose sand to get him out of a nasty spot of clear cut.Everyone was happy about that morning as we now had all week to take it easy and maybe get a calf,do some fishing and bird hunting.
More posts and pics to follow in the coming weeks.

Views of the landscape and roads.
The area where my friends and i hunt has all been logged over some years before.Every year i go up there it all looks different.New growth is taller and the old roads are are getting more overgrown. This is the perfect spot to find moose and bear. There is quite a few ruffled grouse and spruce grouse.Lots of rabbits some years. You may also find a nice Canada goose standing in the middle of a deserted bush road sometimes.

Some different hunt camps that i`ve had.
Most of these camps make the use of a 12x18 prospector style tent. They have a chimney hole either in the top front or the front left side wall. And with a small air tight stove they can be quite warm and comfortable.I prefer a decent wall tent over a travel trailer as you have a bit of room to move around and no one is stuck on the inside beside a wall when sitting down at a table like in a travel trailer.
